There are many reasons that you may want to search to see if you have an arrest warrant pending
. It may be that you got a ticket in the past
and when the court sent you the information on how to pay for it, It got lost in the mail.

There are several sites that offer free police records searches and they may be a good place to start. However as in all things you do end up getting what you pay for. For a more complete, proffesional search try a paid service. Here are a couple that I would recommend:
  • Government Resources.com is an extremely comprehensive indexing of nation wide (US) records. Slightly more expensive but worth it if you need an extensive search.
  • Criminal Records.org is an affordable alternative that searchs over 300 million records federally.
You can of course go down to the courthouse and check to see if they have an outstanding warrant for your arrest. but it is risky because they can arrest you there. A better way to handle this matter is to search online to see if there are any outstanding warrant for your arrest. Make sure that when you search online that you find a site that will give you your information for free.

It is important that you always check into your police record to make sure that there are no outstanding warrants on you because if you do they can arrest you on the spot. It is better to handle this matter on your own time, when you are not in a situation where you have been pulled over and can be arrested.

Your best option is to search online and see if there is an old ticket that is in warrant. If so then you can call the courts and take care of this ticket before you get stopped for something else.

Remember that if you have a suspicion that you may have a warrant out for your arrest then you need to do a search online first. Do not go to the courthouse because you may get arrested.

When searching online make sure that you use the website that gives you the information that you need for free. Many of these sites will try to charge you a fee which can cost you up to $50 per search.
