It is important that you search and find out if you have any old tickets that could possibly be in warrant
. There are ways that you can search online so that you can avoid being arrested at the local courthouse.

There are several sites that offer free police records searches and they may be a good place to start. However as in all things you do end up getting what you pay for. For a more complete, proffesional search try a paid service. Here are a couple that I would recommend:
  • Government Resources.com is an extremely comprehensive indexing of nation wide (US) records. Slightly more expensive but worth it if you need an extensive search.
  • Criminal Records.org is an affordable alternative that searchs over 300 million records federally.

It is for a common for some people to misplace a traffic ticket and if you let it go unpaid for too long it can turn into a warrant.

It is also very possible that the courthouse sent you the information about your ticket and they got lost in the mail. Either way you may need to find out if this ticket has gone into a police warrant.

You have several options to find out if your old ticket has become a warrant. The first is you can go down to your local courthouse and ask them if the citation has become a warrant for your arrest.

The big problem with doing this issue take a chance at possibly being arrested while you were in the courthouse. A better option for you is to search online to check and see if the ticket has gotten to this point. You do not have to feel guilty or bad if you had a ticket that went into police warrant that you need to make sure you take care of it at this point.

Remember if you suspect that you have an old ticket that has gone unpaid, it is possible it has become a police warrant. Your best option to find out if it has gone into warrant is to check online and do a free search. You can go down to the courthouse to find out this information but be aware you will risk possibly being arrested.
